The Garmin GPSMAP 62s GPS is the next generation in rugged handhelds with all the features and capabilities that were found in the Garmin GPSMAP 60 GPS products, plus much more. With a new design and must-have features, theseis rugged unit areis a great fit in Garmin’s line-up of colour outdoor handhelds.
The Garmin GPSMAP 62s GPS series takes recreational navigation to a new level. The unit features a bright 6.6cm 65k colour LCD display with a built-in basemap and a high-sensitivity GPS receiver with HotFix. This model boast unparalleled reception with a quad helix antenna, are waterproof, have a worldwide basemap with shaded relief and support paperless geocaching.
In addition to the standard feature set on the GPSMAP 62 GPS, the 62s version adds a 3-axis compass, a barometric altimeter and a built-in microSD card slot for loading additional maps.

Garmin GPSMAP 62s GPS also supports BirdsEye Satellite Imagery (subscription required), that lets you download satellite images to your device and integrate them with your maps. In addition, the 62s is compatible with Custom Maps, free software that transforms paper and electronic maps into downloadable maps for your device.
